Remote work a
luxury of the new era

For many a wonderful enrichment, for others a marathon of virtual team meetings. From home office back to movement. The flexibility of our remote working world brings many benefits, but perseverance is required.

Discipline is involved to keep the body moving regularly and mindfully. Whether it’s a morning walk before work, jogging in the park, yoga in the living room, or taking your team meetings outside, the sky is the limit. But when it comes to our own physical health, everyday life often looks very different.

Back pain is considered the number one widespread disease in Germany. According to the health insurance company KKH, sick leave in 2021 due to back pain was at a record high. The reason for these complaints is often a lack of exercise, irregular breaks, sitting for too long and often incorrect posture at work. The consequences are frequent physical pain and a lack of motivation.

Prevent and cure
back problems with Pilates

Most of us simply sit too much – our bodies are not made for that! Weight gain, back problems and other diseases follow. Through a full-body workout such as Pilates, vitality for body, mind and spirit can be regained in just a few hours.

Pilates is part of the new lifestyle and offers a good and healthy training method to prevent and alleviate physical limitations. Already in medicine, Pilates has long been considered a useful method to treat back problems. Sports physicians recommend Pilates training especially for chronic back problems.

Unlike yoga, which can be done at home, the common recommendation is to do Pilates training in a Pilates studio. Here, the body is aligned on special Pilates equipment with spring resistance and mats exercises. Thus, the body quickly gains strength and flexibility. The combination can result in better posture and faster development of the deep back muscles. The stretching and flexibility of the body are thus increased and with it one’s own well-being.

What can you
do about back pain?
The answer is: strengthen
weakened muscles, stretch tense and
shortened muscles.

A young woman trains on the Pilates reformer. Shoulder and strength building. Her two arms are stretched out to the side with the loops in her hands.

Prevent visiting
doctors, a healthy
body with Pilates

In order to prevent medication and doctor’s visits, especially due to constant sitting, regular Pilates training makes sense. Here you invest not only in your body but also specifically in yourself. A healthy back helps to gain valuable strength for the day.

Who wants to try Pilates once here in Berlin, the studio Realz Pilates offers group, solo and duo courses. The advantage at REALZ is, they offer very small groups of up to 5 participants, which is almost like a one-on-one workout. So they can be more specific to you and support you in the exercises. If you are a newcomer, you should first book a private lesson and then start with the group classes. A wonderful opportunity to do something good for your health.
