A herniated disc is usually followed by a very lengthy period of treatment. Sometimes involving surgery, strong medication, rest and physiotherapy. Nevertheless, it is not uncommon for chronic back pain to remain.<br><br>The main causes of chronic back pain and slipped discs are usually weak back muscles, a lack of flexibility, poor posture, lack of exercise, pregnancy or injury. However, these causes cannot simply be treated with medication or rest.
